Giveaway: Take my coupons, please!

So, we just found out that my husband will be starting his new job much sooner than we expected (good news!), so I have about 3 weeks to uproot my entire existence (less good news). I'm a little overwhelmed right now thinking of all the things I need to do.

Because I plan to spend the next few weeks eating out my fridge, freezer and pantry, and then another 2 weeks in hotels and transit, I need to get rid of most of my coupons that don't have super long expiration dates. I hate to see good coupons go to waste, so I'm giving away a potluck envelope of coupons. To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below with your favorite moving tip before noon tomorrow (Wednesday). We will be provided with movers so I really need logistical, organizational, or sanity based tips more than packing tips. I will select one comment at random to receive the envelope of coupons. Since I have an average of 2.3 readers per day, you should have pretty good odds! :)

If you are taking down art or wall hangings, attach the brackets or nails with tape so that you don' tgo hunting around for what you used to use.

Make one box of kitchen stuff that you will open immediately so you don't have to sort tham all out to make a meal. For example enough plates, bowls, cups, silverware, one pan for one meal. That way you have one box to live out of while waiting to unpack the rest. I liek to start with packing my toiletries that I won't need for those two weeks. Bathroom is easiest to organize and pack up so it feels good to accomplish a whole room.

(email me at sunnysblog at gmail dot com) I have tons of moving hints... Do they work? (you may ask) and I'll tell you that three years later, people are STILL commenting on how quick and organized my move was from one location to another. (from one town to another..not a huge jump like yours).

1. Google Reader has you at 33 subscribers + who knows how many more with other feed services!

2. Moving Tip: If people offer anything to help (time, watching kids, offering food, offering packing supplies or help packing)... ACCEPT IT. I used to be too proud to accept help but last time, I accepted all help - which made it all go more smoothly.

My tip is: use what you have whenever you can. Pack items in suitcases instead of boxes, use towels and clothes for cushioning breakables, etc. Check bookstores for free boxes--their boxes are meant to ail heavy books and are generally pretty sturdy.

Good luck!

Oh my gosh!! Is it too late??? I hope not!!

I just moved 3 weeks ago and a great tip someone gave me was to label your cupboards in the new house with postits almost first thing, so that you and any helpers can put your kitchen, bathroom etc. together quickly and you can get back to living quickly.

Best wishes with your move!!

Also, give yourself extra time and forgive yourself (and others) for mistakes. Moving can be hard!!

Technically it's too late, but Jenny hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I might need to redraw it. Thanks for the tip!
